Hi all, I am thinking of buying a Folbot Aleut floor model. 1) Any opinions on the Aleut itself? 2) In general, what do you think is an appropriate discount for a floor model? I'd be interested in knowing, for example, how long it had been on the floor, etc. Thanks for any ideas/advice.

Marc - good to know, especially good to know that the Lasso is so effective. I'm still leaning toward that folding boat, but it may be that I go the fiberglass route at some point.

Hi, I'm considering buying a kayak of my own. I think my biggest hassle is how best to prevent theft. I don't have a garage or anywhere to store a boat in my home, and leaving it on top of the car will be an invitation to thieves; it's been proven that where I live, you can't have nice things. Does anyone here store their kayak at one of those self-storage places or at a marina? If so, how is that going? Cost? I'm also considering a folding kayak, since getting the boat on top of the car and securing it there would probably prove a challenge for me anyway. Thanks, Amy
