  1. Is anyone going by Newburyport that could carpool? (i.e., give me a ride?) I bought a new car last week, sold my old one with the rack, and it is very awkward (I mean really difficult!) to get my boat up with blue foam blocks. I'll be replacing the rack, but not this week. I am 1.7 miles off 95, will be ready on time and contribute to gas costs. Thanks! Florrie

  2. Yes, thank you Katherine for this great season of Ladie's paddles, they were a fabulous addition to my summer! So girls, I would say with confidence based on the technical string and chart mileage method that we did 13 miles. Yup, and adding the agreed upon 10 miles for those gale force winds puts us at a virtual 23 miles. Felt like that, didn't it, Amazons?! Thanks again Katherine!

  3. Katherine, that sounds great. I've launched there before and know how to find the put-in, always a plus. I had a chart of that area, can't find it - it must have been the one I lost at Lanes, dang it all over again! Not sure if I'll have another one by the 19th or not. Thanks again for organizing, I'm looking forward to it! Florrie

  4. Here's a good site for charts, http://www.richardso...s.com/index.php and I get some at West Marine Stores. Janice, I never found my chart case, bummer! I guess someone else is enjoying it now. That link keeps messing up - it should say richardsonscharts dot com

Katherine, I'll follow you anywhere, including Rockport, but for the sake of discussion how about a change to Pavillion Beach up into Plum Island Sound?

  5. Closed end first zipped, for reasons given above. I stuff mine into a nylon compression sack which gets it smaller than you can by putting the sleeping bag directly into a drybag. I stick the compressed bag into a dry bag and stuff clothes and small stuff around it. Florrie

  6. Thanks Katherine for coordinating another excellent day! I have to say I was coaxed into rock play by you, thanks to you and the rest of the amazons for that support! We were debating mileage, and according to my chart we did 3.5 miles each way, for a 7 mile total. I look forward to seeing everyone again next month or sooner! Florrie

  7. I'd be glad to carpool but I'm not sure Newburyport is convenient for anyone - if you northern folks come down this way, let me know, it would be fun to meet up and I'll be happy to drive us to the put-in. Florrie

  8. I'm coming - thanks for the planning Katherine! There are directions to Lane's Cove in the drop down menu under Events & Planning - click on Put-ins and it's under Gloucester. See everybody Sunday! Florrie

  9. Hi Florrie,

Stopping in NPT to carpool works fine for me. I just need to check if I have a second car rack that I can use.. just got a new (old) car!. If I can't work out the rack, I am happy to strap my kayak onto your car.

    Shari

Shari, that's great. Do you want to call or email me and we can work out the details? Thanks - Florrie
