  1. My favorite launch site is in Manchester on Ocean St. just next to Kettle Ocean St. (off of 127). the beach parking is open for anyone in the off season. I have parked there often in the summertime and never been bothered. Its a nice site to access some of the islands nearby. give a call 914-489-2673. Im still up for the harbor if we get anyone else interested.
  2. 10:00 launch its a great paddle out there we could head down to Misery Island OR we could launch from the beach across from Misery.
  3. hmmmm doesn't look liked there are any takers and its 5:40 on Friday night. I may just head out to Kettle Cove tomorrow for a shoreline paddle. That is if I don't hear from anybody.
  4. Bob, I am pretty intent on going and I would be quite willing to put up with some mildly inclement weather. If you are interested lets work out the specifics. Since you are more experienced with the harbor I will defer to you. Hows that sound Ross
  5. This past Sundays Graves excursion was bagged and we headed up to paddle in Portsmouth. I am still interested in exploring some of the islands in the harbor. Any ideas/advise/interest? Ross
  6. Looks like we are changing plans to go to Pierce Island in Portsmouth. Ross 914-489-2673

  9. Give a call 914-489-2673 if any one is still interested this morning. I don't want to drive all the way down if no one is going to show up.

  11. Paddle out toward Graves Islands on sunday leaving from Kings beach. Meet at 9ish. On the water by 10 off by 3 in time to make it back home for the game. We'll keep an eye on the weather.
  12. Great, seems like we have a trip coming together. I'm not so familiar with the area. Where is Kings beach?
  13. Sounds like a good paddle. I would be interested in checking that area out in the off season. Any other thoughts? Any takers?
  14. QUOTE(Kevin B @ Jan 31 2008, 10:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Don't feel like the Isles on Sunday since I'd prefer to stay local and minimize driving. What about around Cape Ann? Tides look right for a counterclockwise paddle. Sounds like a possibility. How about exploring some of the islands in boston harbor? Maybe quieter in these winter months.
  15. Hey Guys Sunday sounds good lets put our heads together to figure out where and when to go. Super Bowl is at 6:00 so we have plenty of time. MAYBE a paddle out to Isle of Shoals?
  16. Any ideas for this weekend 2/2-3? I'm up for anything. Just looking to get out and doing some exploring. Ross
  17. Parking at the beach on Ocean St. is not a problem because it is the off season.
  18. Paddle rocky shoreline outside of Manchester down to Misery Island or take a left out towards Gloucester. There are beautiful rocky cliffs and a few small islands to explore along the way. There are a couple of spots to play around in the rocks so bring helmets. Meet at Kettle cove beach parking (Ocean St. off of 127) at 9:30-10:00. High tide is at 1:30. I’ll probably be out until sunset. Ross
  19. Sounds good I plan on being there tomorrow. We can make alternate plans if necessary. Perhaps even surfing on Singing beach or Kettle Cove. In regards to the earlier strands it is wise to check the forecast but it seems to me that we should wait until the day before the trip for a more accurate assessment of the weather. Of course it is important to watch for the conditions, but as we know these things can change on a daily basis. I'd hate to see some trips nixed too early. Just my humble opinion. Thanks for everyones input, just goes to show that as a group we have a wealth of knowledge as well as some very wise and seasoned paddlers who are watching out for each other. Hopefully we'll be able to get out there for a good paddle tomorrow.
  20. Meet at beach parking next to Kettle Cove (Ocean St off of 127)
  21. Paddle rocky shoreline outside of Manchester down to Misery Island. There are beautiful rocky cliffs and a few small islands to explore along the way. There are a couple of spots to play around in the rocks so bring helmets. Meet at Kettle cove beach parking and be on water at 10:00 High tide is at 12:00. Ross (my first post)
  22. Any possibility of having Lanes Cove as a pickup point? The paddle around Halibut point is very scenic but gets a little "suburbanized" after that. If we could coordinate it I could leave my vehicle there. Just another option, although I may bend to peer pressure if everyone is doing a circumnav. ( Just say No) Ross
  23. Kevin, Ross here I will be joinin' ya. Calling in sick. Will have to wear lots o' suntan lotion plus a hat so's not to give myself away. Mums the word. See ya there. Ross
