  2. Looking for a destination to go kayak camping, maybe in the carribean or sea of Cortez etc. Is anyone familiar with Arawak expeditions? Suggestions appreciated. Brad.
  3. Thinking about where to go this winter for vaction and would like to include some paddling with it. can anyone recommend a trip/s. Probably thinking of the Carribean I suppose.
  4. I am going camping in Casco Bay next week, have two days /one night to do it, can anyone recommend a great first trip to do to this area? I checked the "Sea Kayaking the New England coast book" (Tamnsin Venn) and thought about doing the Falmouth Forside out to Jewell or Crow Island for the night. any suggestions/recomendations anyone?? Thanks, Brad
  5. Are you going to post wether or not it is a go before morning(weather conditions etc). my cell # is 978.771.5354.
  6. After Lisa edged the Avocet a bit to far yesterday, and ended up doing an impromptu wet exit, we discovered gallons of water in the day hatch. Upon closer inspection I noticed the sealant around the edge of the bulkhead is leaking, what is the proper sealant to replace this with and will I be ok just cleaning the area and going over the old stuff???
  7. oh thanks Kevin, didnt know that, believe the RM and glass are same. Whats this wavesport Diesel thingy???
  8. thanks Roger, yes the Avocet is like the Tempest, but since I bought the Avocet my girlfriend loves it and always paddles it, so between the two we can switch it off. Tried a Tempest last night, nice nice boat, buying one today.
  9. or comments about this boat? It seems like a fast, fun, nimble and seaworthy craft to me. Thinking about purchasing one but thought Id get some local input if anyone has some. Thank you
  10. I agree with you completely, however getting Lisa to do that is a dealbreaker for a camping trip. But I love camping in the open, definitly brings one closer to nature.
  11. Does anyone have a favorite tent design they want to share, is free standing the way to go for our type of camping (ie: kayak camping) Then there are stoves and sleeping bags, enough designs to make you dizzy. HELP.
  12. hi Kevin, I think Id like to attend this also. Dont have an ACA# yet though.
  13. Starting to get interested in a touring boat as I would like to do some camping, really excited to do the Maine Island Trail. Know someone with a Cappella 169 in glass. Is this a fast boat with good carrying capacity? Have never even seen one but thought about trying it out. Thanks for any input,
  14. If it is an open I'd like to join in, will be at the demo anyway and wanting to paddle.
