  1. If the sea conditions are to bad She is going to be pulling her kayak today leaving from Marblehead on the days that she walks its on a coastal route like 3A and walks around 20 mi her kayak and gear about 200 lbs. she was on Lynn Parkway Sat afternoon after she crossed Boston harbor from Hingham. She stayed in Marblehead on Sunday to repair a broken wheel on her cart I'd be guessing she would be on 1A to 127 heading to gloucester. meet her she is amasing.I think it was MPR public radio who interveiwed her at the boat ramp in Hingham maybe someone can find out when that will be broadcast
  2. Renata will be staying in Marblehead tonight. Tomorrow she will be pulling her kayak along the coastal roads heading north. This amazing woman will have complete 11200 miles around the parimeter of The United States. Or as she told me... " give or take a couple hundred miles." I think she must be getting close to 8000 miles as of Massachusetts. She left a bike in Florida and will have it shipped to Eastport, Maine. From there she will bike across Maine towing her Kayak and head toward Lake Superior. If you check out her web page, you can see GPS tracking of her trip. http://www.renatachlumska.com I wish more people knew of this adventurer, as she is passing by our homes and byways - and we are missing out on an inspirational experience. After hosting her for the past four nights, I have a deeper understanding of what sacrifices and challanges she has faced, and still has to face for the next five months. I will be trying to help now in the only way I can at this point - by trying to raise everyones awareness of her in the hopes that not only will others be inspired by her actions, but we can lend her support by our interest. There is a link to email on her web page that you can use to contact her directly.
  3. We spotted Rinata along the highway in Buzzards Bay, and have been lucky enough to have her use us as her "Bed and Breakfast" for the past two nights. We pick her up as she marks her exact departure site on her GPS, and return her in the morning so start off were she left off. http://www.renatachlumska.com to learn more about her 11 month trip around the USA. She will be leaving Hingham Harbor at the monument to cross Boston Harbor Saturday 5/14 come rain or shine. Please come meet this seasoned kayak adventurer and cross with her to show support to push her along the next 5 months and hopeful return to Seattle before winter sets in.
