  1. I'm in as well. See you tonight!
  2. Confirmed. Tuck's Point at 10:30. See you there. Anyone else joining in? -John
  3. I'm up for anything and the time is flexible too. I haven't launched from either, so I'll take any suggestions you have. In order to make progress, here's the menu: - Tuck's Point at 10:30 (bib) - Pavillion Beach at 11:00 (bib) Route and pace for both to be determined on the beach. For folks that are planning on joining in, please state your interest and preference here. Thanks -John
  4. Hi Ernie, I'm assuming you meant "NOT too early". Crane's sounds good to me. High tide is 9:08am tomorrow. Say BIB at 10:30? Lunch somewhere on Plum Island? NW winds 10-15kt with gusts to 20 with 1-2ft seas seems fine. I'm flexible with plans, just offering a concrete starting point for discussions. -John
  5. Saturday is a very rare free day for me. I'm looking for a level 2+/3 ocean paddle. If anyone is putting anything together, I'd love to join in. Thanks -John
  6. Hi David, I'm in. See you in the morning. -John
  7. QUOTE(Kevin B @ Jul 10 2008, 01:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>1pm? I'm in. See you tomorrow. Anyone else that's interested is, of course, welcome to join us. -John
  8. QUOTE(Kevin B @ Jul 10 2008, 08:29 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>John, Let me know what you want to do for tomorrow. If the Cape sounds like a bit much at this time, we could put in early (before the practice session) at Forest River and head out to some of the islands. The cape does sound like a bit much until I've done some more paddling this year. Heading out to the islands sounds perfect. I'm willing to do some miles, I just want to be realistic about what I can handle. Name the time and I'll meet you at Forest River. Thanks -John
  9. Thanks Bill, this was hugely helpful! -John
  10. A gmaps pedometer route looks like 23nm, which seems pretty substantial for my first real trip of the season. Were you looking for some towing practice? -John
  11. Hi Bill, Thanks for the info, but it's not really helpful. I can look up the tides for any point around the area, but without local knowledge of where you want to be (or avoid) during the ebb and flood, I can't make good trip planning decisions. Thanks -John
  12. QUOTE(Kevin B @ Jul 9 2008, 12:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>How many miles? Circumnav Cape Ann? How many miles is that? I did a circumnav of Plum Island last year without much difficulty and that was about 18nm IIRC. What are the tides looking like for Cape Ann Friday? -John
  13. Looking for a trip on Friday. I'm up for just about anything that gets some miles under my boat. Anyone have anything planned or willing to help me plan something? Thanks -John
  14. Hi Kevin, Friday is looking beautiful for a paddle. Let me know what your plans are and I'll join in. Thanks! -John
  15. I'm in. See you on Sunday. -John
