Icom is a great radio. I dropped mine in a parking and it is still working just fine. West Marine recommended to me and they sell both Icom and Standard Horizon. FishHawk

I'll let you guys know how it handles. FYI I'm getting 57 mpg without the AC on with it on I get 48. I'll bet the with the yak on it will be in the high 40 mpgs. Not too shabby. The technology is here so give it a good look. Bill.

I Have a Toyota Prius and have yet to try out my yak on the car. Wondered if there are any other Prius owners out there and how the car handled with a yak on top of it? I have a Thule rack and a Necky Santa Cruz rec. yak. FishHawk

I own the M2A Icom radio which I dropped in a parking lot and got a few small dings but the radio is still ok. Built like a tank. Icom was recommended to me by West Marine which also sells Standard Horizon radios so they have no axe to grind. FishHawk

Glad your ok. I don't post here that much but when I saw this it made me think of an incident that happened to me. Won't go into details but what I learned is that when real serious stuff happens it happens real quickly. What I learned from my experience is you must keep a cool head or it's over. FishHawk

I have a Garmin Ledgend C and it's a nice small unit. The only trouble I had is that the outer rubber gasket came loose. I sent it back to Garmin and it was repaired free of charge. I like the small size becuse I use the unit while hiking. FishHawk

Can anyone give me the locations for a couple of launch sites in Wellfleet. I have a rec yak and will be using it to fish out of. I would am looking for sheltered water not open ocean. Thanks FishHawk

I camped on Washburn several years ago. It's a primitive campground . You have to bring in your own water. Beautiful sites but they go fast and you have to reserve well in advance. FishHawk

I would turn it in for the refund and apply the money to get either an Icom or Standard Horizon Radio. Why mess around with bags ect when you can get a quality radio that will work just fine without a bag? These two brands are the best radios out there. Just my .02 FishHawk

Has anyone been down to scout out the new break at South Beach in Chatham? Should be interesting to see how this will effect the area. FishHawk
