  1. The usual suspects are lining up! Me too! Me too! See you there! Rob
  2. I'm hoping my friend Bob Cornell, from Rockport, will show up too. The weather looks good for tomorrow. See you in the morning. Rob
  3. I'll be there! Season Opener for me. I see that Kevin is coming, too. Anyone else signed on? Rob
  4. I'd be up for it, too. Are you thinking of the back side of Crane Beach? Cheers, Rob
  5. Christopher, I'm up for at least 2 March sessions. Rob
  6. Jura? Corryvrecken? (I'm just guessing!)
  7. I bet the open,"porous" stacking of rip-rap makes it more dangerous, since water can drain away through it more quickly than it can off natural stone formations. It's a strainer, like a fallen tree in a moving river. Anyway, yesterday's paddle sure was a great learning experience for me. A lot of fun, too, though "fun" wouldn't have been the topmost word on my mind as I struggled to keep up with you guys pounding around Halibut Point! Thanks for posting the pictures, Ken. Cheers, Rob
  8. No problem with parking there, I trust?
  9. Sounds good. I'll come along too. Any idea what time you'd like to launch?
  10. Ooh! I'd be interested in joining in. I'm planning to do some major work on my old stitch & glue boat this winter. Any idea when you'd hold it? Rob
  11. I'm planning to go to the MITA lecture, and I'll come along on the paddle, too. I would venture to guess that at half-tide the water would just be covering the flats so we could paddle/wade out to the channel. You'd get a little mud in the boat, but it shouldn't be too bad. Should we RSVP to the Joppa Audubon? Rob
  12. Roger, I had carpal tunnel surgery done on my left hand a couple years ago. My CTS manifested itself as numbness rather than as pain, but it was quite annoying, as I had also lost some dexterity and tended to drop things. It was part of the reason I stopped windsurfing and bike riding. My hands kept going to sleep on me! The surgery was done at Salem Hospital. I think it took less than an hour, but I can't recall precisely. I had a "trigger finger" (a nodule on a flexor tendon) taken care of at the same time. Since the operation the numbness is completely gone from my left hand, but the dexterity has not totally returned. I am certainly glad I had it done, but I was not impressed enough with the results to have the procedure done on my right hand. I am left-handed and my left hand was more severly affected by the CTS than the right. Don't let this discourage you! I do think it's worth having done if carpal tunnel is bothering you. Rob
  13. There'll be a quiz next time! Thanks for posting the photos. Cheers! Rob
