  1. With B around you could always count on a hatch or two being mysteriously open or with an edge lifted...Hmmmm...did ya ever look IN to see just what he had been up to??!!
  2. I do recall what we called a fine winter day down in RI where you were helping me lift my boat onto your car after a paddle and we suddenly heard loud thumps as the strong winds blew your loaded Pintail rolling down the beach! I don't know if I am more sane, but I do have more activities pulling me in more directions. Happy New Years to All Rick Woo
  3. They subtracted a few things that were possibly questionable as marketing and usage features. They eliminated MURS, am/fm radio and the aviation channels on the newer unit.
  4. Well the barrier is there so that boaters do not pass through from lake to lake and it is assumed that one would not lift it or otherwise try to cross it. A milfoil infestation has been a big problem in the south lake for a few years and they are trying to have boaters use one region and not pass throughout the parts of the lake system until this can be corrected. A google search of: Lake cochituate weeds will point to a number of articles delving into greater detail. As a club we can help the effort and our image by not crossing over or lifting and disturbing the barriers/nets in place.

  7. In fact, one might do well to put a small compass in >ones pfd, just in case. > >--David. I agree on this point. I have always carried a hand held compass in my PFD as a backup in case something should happen to my deck mount, and it is also helpful during discussions on land about the next leg of the trip with other members of the trip. Also helpful when exploring by foot on some of the great islands and trails during a trip. I always thought it a good idea to back up the boat mounted compass in case the unthinkable happens. Rick W
