  1. For the record... I Brad Gwynn did not install the keelstrip on Blanes boat, so the lousy finish he writes of is not mine. Just to remove any ambiguities...
  2. Hi Blane Its in Lynn on lynn shore drive. About the middle of the beach you will see a staircase going down from the street to the sidewalk with bushes on both sides, then a narrow ramp from the sidewalk down to the sand. This is my usual launch. I will be there at 11 am. Hope you can make it! Attached is a file with the launch local pinned
  3. Lookin for someone to paddle with tomorrow fri nov 12 Launch @ kings beach about 11am, bigish seas, some open water, some rocks and some surfing. Any takers?
  4. Gonna Bail for Sunday, looks like its gonna be VERY windy that day, not much fun IMHO. Tomorrow is the day, it will be somewhat smaller at Kings beach, I'll be surfing there most likley. If its to small I'll paddle over to Long beach.
  5. I'm down... Probley be in my blue Avocet
  6. I use a http://www.davisnet.com/marine/products/ma....asp?pnum=01471 it JUST fits in all three of my Valley sea boats. Way to go I think. My launch is about a third of a mile away. I think Joel at NESC has a bike/boat trailer in stock

I Will be Launching at Kings beach at 9 am (BIB 9:30) for some easy gunkholing around Swampscott rocks. Anyone who wants to is welcome to join me.
  8. My guess is your skirt was not fitted correctly, or it was made of nylon, or you were in a plastic boat with a skirt made for a glass boat ect. A well fitted neo skirt on a composite boat will not likely implode, even when broched in BIG dumping surf. and that includes keyholes. I once broke a glass boat hitting nothing but water... my skirt stayed on.
  9. I'd be willing to bet No One has ever tryed to do that! I think you should go ahead and give it a try. Be sure to capture it on video so you can post it on Youtube! A viddy of a kayak being totally distroyed on top of a car in a drive through carwash my well be the next big viral video. It may be tough to find a car wash willing to let you do it though, as it would damage the car wash machines as well.
  10. QUOTE (Kevin B @ Jan 29 2010, 08:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Sounds good. I'll confirm with you guys and Bob tomorrow. \ May I tag along?
  11. Contrary to what my brother stated, I have to say this type of thing could not happen to ANYONE as most of us know about tides. Pay attention to the power of mother ocean, or she WILL spank you. To bad the tide was on the rise and not goin out. IMHO this kayak is beyond resonable repair.
  12. When I saw Joe paddling hard and not really moving I knew he had a keeper! I have since realized that my fish scale is way off... The fish was probably closer to 30 Lbs. I weighed a 30 pound barbell this evening and the scale read 15 pounds. I must say I will NEVER forget being upside down in a kayak holding on to the mouth of a large fish like that. I have the image permanently etched into my mind of looking at this fish while upside down in my boat and thinking DAM this thing could swallow a fence post and meanwhile flailing for the surface with my free hand, since i had chucked the paddle to handle the fish. I was really happy when I felt the bow of Joe's boat. Seeing my gut in that pic makes me realise i really gotta go on a diet!
  13. Best Guitarist Ever?? OK, RT is one of my faves but Best guitarist ever? Not Even close!! Best folk rock singer/songwriter ever, Mabey... He has done so many great songs. The song "Beeswing" is one of my all time favorites, right up there with Tim Buckleys "Song of the siren" Oh and if you wanna hear awesome guitar, how about Django Reinhardt or even John Mclaughlin Or how about The amazing killswitch guitar anthem "Jordan" by Buckethead or the highly underated late great Frank Zappa The list goes on and on..
  14. RT Rules!! Thanx for the info, I'm gonna do my best to attend his show
