alcoons
South Shore reports fog and possible rain -- We are essentially do what is described below but lauching at Pavillion Beach and heading up the Parker River (7:30 AM) Two of us are going to Hingham for a conservative shake-out paddle. Probably not going out to islands even if it seems we could due to the water temperature. So it will be a stroll along coast lines trying to minimize any open-water crossing. 2-3 hours of paddling. You should be at least a class 3- paddler, at least have farmer john level protection and confidence that you would be very unlikely to tip over under standard conditions - some waves, some wind..nothing too strong (note I am not suggesting that it cannot happen, just want to make sure that we have confident paddlers for the given situation).High Tide is 10:15. We plan meet at 8:30 AM and launch before 9 AM. As with all club paddles, please make sure you are ready to launch on time. This is a S&G. Officially it is leaderless and, while we will all stay together and try to help each other, you should make no assumptions about the skills of those paddling. You are responsible for yourself and your own well being. Bring extra clothing and a snack. Lunch will probably be at a nearby resturant after the paddle if interested. If you can, please indicate here if you hope to meet us.
