brambor
I found a this slideshow from 2 day seakayaking trip in a landlocked country. I think this is in Germany. I think it is cool how they go through the various portage options...
jwhipple
Those are such fun photos!I love how the canal has spawned bankside restaurants, even hostels by the look of it, to cater to boat travelers, and is still used in a more traditional way, by farmers to transport hay ...Among my favorites:Kayaking through people's back yards ... kayak-size locks for changing levels ...And the MOST fun: the portage track with rollers, so you can portage without getting out of your boat! (Think: start of a luge race in winter.)
spider
I'm not sure I'm getting the slideshow feature but love the portage with the rollers...very clever and "user friendly" I'm linking to the website with a 4 day trip featured paddling in former East Germany the river Sprewa.(I'm using google translate from Czech to English so can't be that sure of the text, but get a pretty good idea of their trips...)Look like they are having a nice time of it paddling through some intricate waterways. Looks like fun.
