jason
If your fish in the ocean please make sure that you comply with the new regulation: http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dmf/recreationa...rec_license.htm It's not clear to me if they are looking for the $$'s in 2010 or 2011 but they will be looking for new revenue. -Jason

It's quick to get a federal license. Next year we will have to register with the state and pay a fee. -Jason
Brian Nystrom
Next year we will have to register with the state and pay a fee. Not in this lifetime... Who exactly do they expect to enforce this? It won't be the Coast Guard.

It's a federal mandate so I suspect that we will see the CG enforcing this as they do with salmon fishing on the west coast. (I don't see this as a good use of CG time and $'s). -Jason

Now matter how they try to sell this it sucks and should be repealed.....fisheries management does not need to involve the little guy. If they really want to get the numbers on what is being caught there are other ways that could be used....
