Posted June 30, 200421 yr Glenn and I were entertaining ourselves with a good urban mt. bike ride over a bunch of big dig construction sites near the Charles and then rode into Charlestown the other afternoon. We solved the mystery of how the Tobin Bridge toll collectors get to work (we were under the bridge by the elevator, near where all the Volkswagons come off of ships). There, along Terminal St and the VW area, a little finger of the water (not yet the mystic officially, I think) juts into Charlestown, ending behind the Charlestown HS. On it, a giant boat ramp, a giant, exceptionally clean parking lot, some Irish colors posted here and there. This appears to be an entirely ignored public boat ramp. Has anyone every used it, seen it, or heard anything about it?(this is not presidents landing and not schrafts)--b
June 30, 200421 yr I think it's the Montego Bay Ramp on the Little Mystic Channel at Terminal St with drive out access and a large lighted public parking area. I have not launched there but it's very sheltered & easier than the Schraft Center Ramp
June 30, 200421 yr Author It looked like you could launch a really large group from there, too, with no parking problems.
July 1, 200421 yr Maybe a bunch of us can swarm out of the channel to greet the arrival of an LNG tanker.
