As in developing an understanding of what charts can tell you by having observations to compare with the chart's info. Then you are on your way to using charts for trip planning in the future. As an example of what can be learned from charts for trip planning: What types of information might be gleaned from the behavior of green buoy number 5 at the mouth of Little Harbor?
