Is anyone going up to the Peaks Island race on Saturday? I've never done it, but I'm thinking of going this year. I was wondering if I'd see others up there. Any idea how many people usually show up for it? Also, is the best way to launch at East End Beach and paddle over to the island or is there another place to launch that is better?

There's always at least a 1/2 dozen or more NSPN'ers there. The overall typical turnout is fairly small compared to other races, usually between 15 and 30 paddlers. It's a good time, you should go. Say hi to Tom for me, I can't make it this year. And, yes launch from East End Beach and paddle across to Peaks. You will land on the beach just to the left (north) of the ferry pier.
