EEL
After putting up almost two cords of wood this morning, I thought maybe a nice relaxing paddle might be in order. Could not contemplate lifting the FG boat so the SOF was the tool of choice even if that meant compromises in clothing, footwear, and kit. Finally got to docks around 2:30 and quickly launched. Lake Winni was flat and quiet and the islands still green. Very peaceful silently gliding along all alone as nobody on water and most shorefront homes closed for season. Lots of ice along the shore provided fascinating shapes to view. Air temp round 25 and water around 40. Got back in two hours so some nice twilight cruising having covered about 6.5NM. Very comfy in the Brooks Tuliiq and no doubt the Thermarest pad used for a seat kept legs warm as well. The water was more than invigorating as it seeped past the seam around the face while rolling before hauling out. Wet exit? Just the thought chills to the bone. Looking forward to next weekend when the islands and mountains will have their full winter mantle of white. Should be beautiful. Ed Lawson

Doug
Sounds like it was a great paddle. Wish I were there. Thanks for the re-cap. Doug
