Kevin B (RPS Coach)
Salem's fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:15pm on Tuesday and a couple of us will be viewing them by kayak and welcome others to come as well. We'll also be viewing Marblehead's fireworks that start at 9pm. Put in at Dolliber Cove with back up of the Willows. Put in promptly at 7:30. We'll monitor 72 for lat arrivals. We have no idea if this will work since we haven't tried it before. There are alot of uncertainties including weather, parking, etc. This will be the last update so use your own judgement in re those variables whe deciding whether to go. If you get lost on the way, feel free to call at 978.270.8170.

Gillian
No, that's only for December paddles - duh! I'm kayaking outfitted in fireworks instead of glow sticks . . . Hey where are we putting in and what time?? Forest River Park?
sisrro
Yeah, I heard Gilly sticks sparklers in her pfd and lights them. It's mighty impressive! Everyone be sure to practice their ooohs and ahhhs before the big show.
Kevin B (RPS Coach)
Although a bit in the future, the weather is looking great for this paddle!
Kevin B (RPS Coach)
Our idea is to put in at Riverhead in Marblehead or Forest River in Salem and paddle out into Salem Sound. From that vantage point, we should be able to see the display from Beverly Farms, Marblehead and Salem all within 15 minutes of each other. We could put in at 7:30 and paddle leisurely out with the first show at 8:45. I'll look at the status of the weather and decide if its a no go by 6:30pm. Bill Lord
FYI: if there are fireworks in Marblehead on that night, they usually shoot them off form the causeway or from a barge nearby. You will not get near Riverhead. There is a little beach in Marblehead called Grace Oliver's on Beacon St. and you can park on the street. It is right near Brown's Island (Crowninshield) and would be very handy to Salem, Beverly and Marblehead displays. Bill Lord
