They clain MIL–SPECS Certified to MIL–Standard 810F for shock and dust and waterproof at 1m for 30 min - also tested for salt deterioration. Brian Nystrom Posted July 9, 2007 Share Posted July 9, 2007 It depends on whether you can deal with a bulky, heavy (and expensive) cell phone for the 99% of the time when you're not on the water. bob budd Posted July 10, 2007 Share Posted July 10, 2007 We use Kyocera palm phones that are definitely not bulky as phones. We put them in bags. The typical cell phone needs to be open to be used so this sort of phone, say a Treo, works in a bag. The voice operation works through the bag.
