Haven’t gotten all the write ups on the calendar as yet, but here’s a preview. If you’re interested in any courses, please drop me an email at fatcat@metrocast.net. Greenland: On Saturday, June 2nd, Cheri Perry and Turner Wilson are back with their skinny sticks and ready to roll. (Pun intended!). This is a wonderful opportunity to experience traditional paddling skills from two amazing teachers. First-timers and those with experience are welcome. The small class size will provide plenty of individual attention. Both morning and afternoon sessions are available. Afraid to commit to the paddle? On Saturday, June 30th, a boat handling /BCU 3* stroke course taught by local stroke guru Jed Luby (BCU L3 Coach sea) is being offered. A great way to learn the strokes or refine your moves. Be the blade… Intermediate Sea Kayaking / Incident Management Sea Kayak Cornwall – Jeff Allen & Simon Osborn On July 14/15th, Jeff and Simon will be here to pass along their kayaking expertise. These two guys have logged some serious expedition mileage, seen all kinds of conditions and dealt with all kinds of kayaking incidents. Anyone venture to guess how many people they’ve taught to roll? A LOT!! Let them take the mystery out of rolling and get you developing good habits. Takin’ It to The Ocean – Intro to Sea Kayaking 2 Day Clinic Wanna do something more challenging than kayaking on lakes and ponds but not quite sure how to go about doing it? This two day clinic on Saturday July 28th & Sunday July 29th is the ticket. We have the A-team of Karen Knight & Bob Foote covering everything from basic stroke development & refinement to dressing & proper equipment for the ocean environment to rescues, towing and wind/waves/weather. First day will be on a sheltered waters and 2nd day will involve touring on open ocean in mild conditions.
