ccarlson
But, ya can't get wet in Lake M! Join us on Great Pond in Kingston tomorrow evening and wetness is guaranteed!
bob budd
In case anyone takes this seriously the water quality at Mystic Lakes is generally good. After heavy rains there can be a couple days where swimming is not advised. Poor water quality has been posted in the past.
djlewis
On the day of each session I check the water quality hotline, where a 5:00 AM report lists all Eastern Mass beaches -- fresh and salt water -- with elevated bacteria levels. Mystic Lake has been OK -- not on the list -- for the last several weeks. That's despite the rain the other day. I suspect it's more a combination of rain and heat that causes problems in Mystic. If anybody want to check it themselves, here's the number...> Beach Water Quality> DCR Beaches Hotline: 617-626-4972--David. ccarlson
Actually, I was referring to Lake Massabesic which is a resevoir, hence no body contact allowed. Sorry for the confusion!
shewhorn
Yeah... no body contact on Massabesic BUT... last time I paddled there I saw 5 loons. I need to get back out there again with my 400mm monster and get some loon portraits!Cheers, Joe
