JaneC Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Looking to go to Damariscove sometime during the Fourth of July weekend. Probably Saturday or Sunday. Launching form Ocean Point. The tides are perfect for this trip. Tide ebbing on out way out and flooding on our way home. Weather is always a factor and, of course, this trip will be weather dependent. If the wind does the typical Maine summer it will be calm on the way out and at our backs on the way home. Let’s hope. The exact route will depend on the group. Lots of opportunities for rock play is we return via the Hypocrites. Please express your interest here and we can plan together. It goes without saying, sea kayaks with bulkheads, spray skirt etc is required
prudenceb Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Possibly, it's a long way to drive to and fro for one day…but if perfect day…tempting.
eneumeier Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Maybe go up Friday evening and camp somewhere? 4th weekend traffic is likely to be awful. LIz
JaneC Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I find leaving very early Saturday morning is the best time to travel - Sunday is even better as its right smack dab in the middle of the weekend
eneumeier Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 I'm not going to make it for this trip. Have fun. Liz
glad Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 Thanks for posting but i’m going to try to stay local on the busy holiday weekend.
JaneC Posted June 29, 2021 Author Posted June 29, 2021 This trip is officially canceled as we don’t have enough committed and more importantly my back has gone south and I need to limit my paddling for the time being
