Jim Snyder Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 (edited) This thread is to post pictures from solo trips during coronatime where you don't want to bother with a new thread, or pictures of other things you're doing to stay fit and sane. I got out on Winnisquam recently to search out the edge of ice. Found this guy in the water, couldn't tell if he was dead or just too cold to move... Edited March 24, 2020 by Jim Snyder ad text Quote
David M Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Thanks Jim. I can hear the ice tinkling and cracking Jim. That is one determined reptile! Speaking of which, we've been in Florida since late December. They have their own brands of reptiles down here. Went for a paddle Sunday to hunt some up. Got skunked! Cheers and stay healthy! Dan Foster Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 (edited) Looks nice! My family always had an "icebreaker canoe" tradition growing up, which made it a good thing we had an aluminum Grumman instead of a kevlar boat. We'd occasionally get too agressive and plow our way up onto an ice shelf that we couldn't break through. Other favorite memories from this time of year involve paddling through floodplains and dodging trees and fences in people's back yards during the spring melt. Jim Snyder Posted March 29, 2020 Author Posted March 29, 2020 Rock gardening on Winnisquam... This passage looked good but turned out to be a little to shallow: Paddling amongst the mini-icebergs: Quote

prudenceb Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 I know. And that's a famous painted rock... Quote
gyork Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Didn't need the clue, Jim. A simple google of "black raspberry and strawberry ice cream cone with cherry on top" brought me there in a hurry! Quote
Jim Snyder Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) Sorry, wrong answer... Maybe this will help: Edited April 16, 2020 by Jim Snyder Quote
Pintail Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Jim, I had <thought> that your second photo (top of thread) looked familiar! Of course: I used to visit Laconia and Loudon quite frequently, some years ago... Quote
