Jim Snyder
I'm thinking of playing around with a sail during my sometimes boring solo paddles on Lake Winnisquam. Anyone have recommendations or equipment for sale or loan?
billvoss
I thought about playing around with a sail on my kayak in NH a few years ago. Then realized that if I added a sail, my kayak might be considered a sailboat over 12 feet in length which must be regi$tered in NH. Decided I wasn't that interested in sails. If you explore sails in NH, you should probably at least double check if the kayak needs to be registered.
Vytas 'Vick' Marciulionis
Hi Jim, did you end up getting a sail?
Jim Snyder
I abandoned this idea. If I'm going to sail it's going to be in a daysailer. I did buy a cheesy spinnaker to play around with and determined if there was enough wind to make it usable there was enough to make it scary. You can have it if you want it. If you're interested in a real sail I would talk to Kris on this forum.
