SeaKayakNE Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Trying to come up with a solution for carrying four seal kayaks on the roof of our truck. Anyone ever use a stacker? Any recommendations? Quote
rfolster Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Kari-Tec is a Scottish company with a tilting roof-rack system that can be customized for up to five boats, and there is a high-roof option as well. Not a cheap option and probably challenging to obtain, but it is out there. Quote
Phil Allen Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 First the responsible adult answer: check the weight limit on your rack and roof system. Now that that's been said, I've seem lots of folks do 4-5 sea boats on edge with stacker (and a good spread between them), well padded bars and bow and stern lines. best Phil Quote
SeaKayakNE Posted March 28, 2018 Author Posted March 28, 2018 After talking with a few people I’m realizing a potential issue, the running of boats together during the drive. At first I though no big deal but a coach told me that he’s had and seen boats wear a hole from stackers on long drives. Im back to considering a trailer, especially if someone wants to let me store it in their yard Quote
Inverseyourself Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 With a truck like yours, the picture wouldn't be perfect without a decent trailer! Quote
SeaKayakNE Posted March 28, 2018 Author Posted March 28, 2018 Andy, does that mean I can store it in your driveway? Quote
