leong
This is perhaps obvious to good rollers but probably useful to some of us.-Leon
Brian Nystrom
Someone needs to learn to count...the article only lists 4 common mistakes. The video is nicely done, however.
leong
Yes, I too, noticed that there's only 4 discussed in the video. But I decided to use the actual title for the post. The only explanation I can think of is that there are 7 common mistakes in the actual Gordon Brown DVD. But more likely it's just a typo.Does anyone have Sea Kayak with Gordon Brown: Volume 3 - DVD? Inverseyourself
Yes. It's the one where Gordon admits that it took him 3 years to learn rolling . There's a little known fact might be comforting to lots of paddlers!
PeterB
7 is a catchy number to use for these kinds of things: Seven Deadly Rolling Sins looks and sounds much better than Four Deadly Rolling Sins.
Christopher Thompson
I am enjoying the Gordon Brown DVDs. On page 10 of the Transcript pdf for the Rolling Clinic starts the list of his 7 Common Mistakes, http://www.seakayakwithgordonbrown.com/transcripts.html. I watched the rolling clinic before going to my first rolling clinic and it helped me a lot.
rfolster
Ah, THAT explains why we were not counting up to seven - he counts the "angle of the shaft" and the "angle of blade" multiple times in respect to different sections of the boat and water. I think some of us lumped all of that into one general category.
