you do noy need a back rest. Just a support that protects your back in the event that youu are pinned against the back deck by a wave.

The green w/yellow stripe and white bottom on the far rightis an Impex Assateague and is mine.

There is the bit about a 6 hr limit and 20 miles, much of it unprotected waters.

Ok, maybe it's nuts to schedule a paddle on Labor Day. L1 easy 6 mi Conomo Point, Essex down the Essex River to the bridge on 133. Lunch along the way and back. Launch at 12:00 noon. SW wind up to 14mi/hr. However helped by flood tide filling the river going and wind at yer back coming back to Conomo. [b]Will boat traffic be huge tomorrow in the Essex? Does anyone have a better idea for a light, no more than 6 mi paddle.

I would like to suggest a show and go after the class so plan on bringing your kayaks and equipment.(including lunch)

We can put in at Conomo Point, Essex or at Pavilion Beach, Ipswich.

I do paddle all winter.

on Highland Ave. in Salem Across

the street from Wal Mart.
