This would be a mellow trip in protected waters ; put - in at York Harbor 1:00 PM , take a pleasant Sunday drive up the York river with the flood tide, turn around at a fork in the river several miles upstream 4:00-4:30 -ish, options for a lunch or swim stop , and paddle back, returning 4:30 or 5pm . The York River is a scenic, pastoral tidal river with historical houses and structures along the way. High tide (York Harbor is 4:30PM . this would be an afternoon trip to use the flood tide.Immersion wear (wetsuits etc) not required as we will always be close to shore, water temps not low, and few hazards other than the occasional pleasure boat passing by. Weather forecast for Sunday is not glorious: cloudy with 50% chance of rain, a bit of wind but not much. Could be a moody but pleasant paddle.
