mattdrayer
Link to this weekend's Narrow River Race wrap-up is here:http://surfskiracing.org/2012/04/narrow-river-race-new-faces/And my quick summary is here:http://rhodeisland.sportsvite.com/events/team-game/1000091519The course was approximately 10 miles, starting at a boat landing area and heading North for ~3mi, South for ~5, and North again for ~2. Conditions were very shallow, with outgoing current and incoming wind.Overall, a great group of guys, although I wish there were more SK'ers there to race with!Matt
lhunt
Congrats, Matt! 1:55 for 10 miles in shallow water is no small feat. I always feel like shallow water messes with my cadence (and with my head). Maybe I'll see you at the ROTC - which race are you entered in?-Lisa
mattdrayer
Hey there, Lisa -- sorry I'm just now getting back to you -- I guess I need to configure my email preferences. The shallow water was definitely a mental battle -- I could really feel the difference when moving into the deeper sections. I'll be racing the 19-mile course in the SK class -- should be fun! What kind of boat are you going to be paddling? I'll be in a Shearwater Merganser -- if you see me please feel free to say Hi Regards, Matt Congrats, Matt! 1:55 for 10 miles in shallow water is no small feat.
