rwolson
Good morning, I'm considering paddling Walden Sunday morning, but once you drop your boat off, do you park near the ramp or in the main lot? Also, how do the winds affect Walden? Thanks, Rich
Phil Allen
Good morning, I'm considering paddling Walden Sunday morning, but once you drop your boat off, do you park near the ramp or in the main lot? Also, how do the winds affect Walden? Thanks, Rich Hi Rich, If you have a boat, you can park in the small area near the boat ramp. If there's no room, your only option is to drop the boat and park in the main lot. Parking fees are the same for both areas. As for winds, they can be real there, but the length of the pond is such that its rare for it to build substantial wave/chop. Phil
alec
You usually have to buy the boat ramp permit ($5) at the kiosk at the entrance to the main lot then u-turn out to 126 and the boat ramp. Also look out for swimmers in the water - it is can be thick with them.
rwolson
Thanks, guys. I suspect around 8 AM Sunday I'll see few swimmers, but always good to know they're around
Phil Allen
You'll likely be suprised by the number of swimmers crossing back and forth in the middle of the pond at that hour. It's a popular spot for triatholon training. Phil
