bob budd
We left the Habitat site in Peabody around 1PM. I had been on the roof all morning so was already looking pretty gnarly. Got to the "Fish House Landing" in Swampscott and, ~1/2 hour ahead of Roger, we cruised the strand to Nahant deciding the middle to be the best place to dip our toes in the water. The hurricane was long gone by now with a bit of wind but an otherwise sunny day with light to moderate surf. By the time I had reached the water at low tide across the long beach and launched Roger showed up. My first wave picked me and my WW boat up and deposited us upside down - wait for the wave to pass, curl, roll - and I began to feel the sweat and powdered roofing materials begin to rinse off of my face. Also great stuff for ragweed season. After several decent rides and one break the incoming tide had completely rewritten the patterns in the water and we disembarked for the Tides.
