bob budd Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Set out from Pebble noonish in a bit of fog. Followed the horn to Thacher Island and never saw Milk Island. Also never saw both lighthouses at the same time. Passed Crangle Cove et al on the back side of the island and came around for a chat with the caretakers and to avail ourselves of the conveniences thereon. Interesting stories of a fellow Gloucesterite (to Adam) whose mother sold a house on Gully Cove some years back for $16k or $18k, how times have changed. Struck out for Straitsmouth again following the horn. On the near side of the island we encountered one Billy the Bass. At first he was reluctant to accompany us but during a contact tow near the rocks he seemed to acquiesce, eventually accepting a ride in the front hatch. From there the trip along the coast was uneventful but a closing swim in the modest surf after landing our boats cinched the day. Quote
