Second photo is the Thomas E. Lannon (local resident) -- is the first one, perhaps, Spirit of Massachusetts?

Definitely right on the second, Dr P. The first is not the Spirit, though. I don't know who she is, but her lines are more along those of a Baltimore Clipper or a pilot schooner, like the schooner-yacht America. Spirit of Mass is built on the model of a Gloucester fishing schooner, much deeper in the hold with a spoon bow, a stronger sheerline, and less rake to the masts.

Here's the Spirit of Massachusetts under power.

She was later joined by the state of Maine training ship (on the left).

Oops, I was wrong about the bow. It's a clipper bow instead of a spoon. Otherwise she's typical Gloucester fishing schooner style hull and rig. So who is that other boat?

I believe it's the Lady Maryland.
