scamlin Posted July 6, 2009 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Camping trip on MITA island in Muscongus Bay. Meet at 9 AM for 10 AM launch on Saturday with takeout after mid-afternoon on Sunday. Initiator will camp on a near shore island Friday evening after a 5 PM launch, an option for early arrivals. Explore the outer islands of this working bay with many islands and thousands of lobster buoys. Exact itinerary depends on conditions and group interest. Will involve longer crossings (more than a mile) and potential Level 3+ conditions including fog. This trip is suitable for new campers with strong paddling skills. As we will visit private MITA islands, participants must be MITA members or join prior to the trip. Limit six participants including initiator.
