alcoons Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Wednesday looks like a perfect day and I am just getting my shoulder back in shape. Yes, I hurt the same one again, and no it is not a good story. How about a leisurely paddle to Misery Island for lunch? Not many places that are more attractive around here. Futzing in the rocks. Just mellow and fun. Perhaps go to Baker's if the conditions are perfect or go a bit up the coast. 4-7 miles. Need at least one other confirmed for Misery. When: Wednesday, June 17th Where: Manchester to Misery, perhaps up the coast or Bakers. Low key, just fun. Timing: Launch at 11 AM sharp. Low tide around 1 PM. Return at 1 or 2 or 3. Put-in: Tucks Point - http://www.nspn.org/put_ins.htm As always, we park in the back after dropping off boats Level: 2+ (3- for Bakers depending on conditions). You should feel comfortable in your ocean kayak, and basic wet-exit and self-rescue skills. The other stuff: Water temp is just below 60. Appropriate clothing. Bring lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, etc. Bring Trustees Membership or $5 for the Island Fee. This is a CAM Trip. Al
