Guest _rick
My intent was to paddle around crane beach. Outbound from Pavilion, ocean side of crane and up inside to Fox creek.. Peter B showed up on this chilly morning. Got the boats and the gear loaded and into dry gear. Conditions were ideal for a winter paddle. Light to no wind. Very minor ripples. The only thing that would have made it better......yup you guessed it..palm trees and 80 degree water. Saw a seal and a whole bunch of ducks...Peter knew the names all I figured was that they were dinner. We took a small break to stretch at the tip of crane on the Essex..No surf . Paddle and talk all the way up to the bridge at fox creek..We managed to spook a doe (you know a doe a deer a female deer.) The deer runs away then runs back to within 50 feet to eyeball these two weird looking water creatures. The rest of the paddle was pretty uneventful..working the bow rudder and weaving in and out of ice. About 3.5 hours and all done.
