M Williams
Eight NSPN paddlers greated the warm weather on a calm 7 plus mile paddle around Gloucester harbour. Liz led Mikael, Lynn, Leslie, Constance, Carl, Roger and Michael on a guided tour of the inner and outer harbor pointing out sites and scenery. She combined helpful indications of launch and landing alternatives with interesting local yore. We stopped for lunch on the public beach near Beauport working out the kinks left by winter in our paddling muscles. After lunch we worked our way out to Eastern Point, along the Dog Bar breakwater and then straight back to the Greasy Pole launch site. The forecast winds never arrived, the waves were gentle, what a great way to launch the paddling season!
