A little rain a little wind a little cold for June. Still fun. Four intrepid paddlers looked at the sky, Marblehead harbor and the distant fog and said let’s get in the boats. A short introduction and a briefing and we were off. Marblehead harbor on a cold, wet Friday night is still magical. The elegant sailboats bobbing at their moorings, the rigging chinking is the background and the seagulls squeaking make the harbor special. The few sailors on the water and on the boats were down below with a book and a blanket. We four paddled at an easy pace. Two new members who shared their experiences as we floated along bobbing over the waves. At the mouth of the harbor we took stock of our situation. Rain was getting heavier; wind was becoming a fresh breeze. We rounded Brown Island and decided to return to the inner harbor and stroll through the fleet and call it an early day. Fact is any day on the water is a good day.

The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic

background,is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average Paddlers.
