Kevin B (RPS Coach) Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 4th annual Christmas tree bonfire will happen at 6pm on Thurs. We're leaving Forest River Park at 4:30pm to paddle over to Dead Horse Beach to watch the show. Tides may be a factor given the full moon, so we'll have alternate take outs available. Plan on returning by 8/8:30 at the latest. Perhaps even a visit to the Pig afterwards Usual SNG rules apply. Rain date for the bonfire is 1/5 and the same will be true for the SNG.
Kevin B (RPS Coach) Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 As of today, this is a go. Bring lights and dress warm, as we won't be heated by the sun. It is a night paddle, but we will be staying fairly close in to shore and taking a leisurely pace.
PeterB Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Where is Forest River Park? I can't find it on Mapquest or in the Put-ins directory.
Kevin B (RPS Coach) Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 Peter, It's off of rt114. Follow rt114 through Salem until you get to a light with Salem State College right in front of you. At that light, take a left and follow the road right to the park. From the entrance you'll be able to see the water.
