SeaKayaker4Life Posted June 8, 2006 Share Posted June 8, 2006 The Maine Island Trail Association and Charles River Canoe and Kayak are pleased to announce a free trip for MITA members on June 24. Thachers Island, off Rockport, Massachusetts, with its twin lighthouses and National Wildlife Refuge, is our destination. This trip is a great chance to meet up with other like-minded paddlers and enjoy islands a bit closer to home! There is no fee, but paddlers must sign a release form. Paddlers should feel comfortable paddling 8 miles in a day and performing both a wet exit and an assisted deep-water rescue. I will be your guide for the day. Space is limited to 6 paddlers, and is on a first-come, first-served basis. To sign up please call Charles River Canoe and Kayak at (617) 965-5110.
