Launch on the harbour side of the isthmus, head to various islands depending on the traffic, conditions, and the temperament of the assembled. The usual protocols, dry suits or equivalent highly recommended. You are looking for Shirley Street that you follow all the way to Deer Island, it passes by the Winthrop golf course, Coughlin Park, etc. I can't recommend a specific exit or route as I have only done this once.
