Suz
Anyone going over to Pavilion to demo the P&H boats? I will be heading there in the morning (want to try the 161 Capella on the ocean) and then will either stay there and play in the afternoon or head somewhere to surf short boats. I am wondering what all you weather/tide/swell watchers think might be happening this Saturday. High for Plum Island Sound is 5 p.m. In years past, the tip of Plum Island gets kinda interesting (think waves like popcorn) at about 2 hours prior to high. Here is the relevant data: Winds: Sat N winds 10 to 15 kt...becoming variable less than 10 kt in the afternoon. Seas 2 to 4 ft. http://www.weatherunderground.com/MAR/AN/150.html Swell report: http://www.wetsand.com/swellwatch/swellwatch.asp?CatId=296 Predicted temps in the mid sixties for both water and air. This year I haven't been able to figure out when it gets interesting or if perhaps the sandbars have moved such that nothing happens there any more. What do others think? markstephens
Suz: Looks right now like the long period swells will be showing up on the North Shore on Sunday. That's likely to be the better surfing day this weekend. Mark

Bill Gwynn
The P&H demo is listed in the Commercial Classifieds. It is being sponsored by NESC.
kate
Suz, I was there last Sunday at 2 hours prior to high tide through to 2 hours post-high tide. It was interesting throughout, but definitely picked up steam as the tide ran out. Some very big rollers coming in from the ocean and forming up over a long distance, some of them breaking, and by the time I left I could see most of them breaking at the mouth to the inlet. I think you'll find some excitement either before or after. Right at high tide it did briefly calm down. Very dynamic area. Kate
Christa
Suz, You're going to have to wrestle me for the Capella 161. One last try before I place my order. Christa
Suz
Come on out then! Plan is to play around with the new boats and then to head out of the sound and most likely north along Plum Island. Planning on lunch and all the other gear. Maybe we can get Judy and Kevin to come out and play with their new Explorers. Suz
