Jim Doscher
For those not going to Bar Harbor, I am thinking of doing the Gerrish Is. circumnavigation tomorrow. High tide around noon. Would plan to launch from Fort Foster (now on fall schedule, no charge) and go counter clock-wise. Swells predicted at 3ft and winds at 10 (gusts to 15 by noon). Tentative plan is to launch by 9, hit some of the interesting rock garden area but be into Braveboat and the more protected marsh area late morning. I can also be talked into another plan....just want to paddle tomorrow!
John Harkey
As a Bar Harbor castaway, I like it. I haven't paddled this course before so want some assurance that Chauncey Creek at high tide will actually deliver us back to Fort Foster! Coming from Providence, I'll likely stay overnight in Portsmouth for a comfortable start of day. Feel free to use my textable (401) 654-3168. Jim Doscher
Cancelling due to lack of interest, (I wanted at least 3). But I will try and repost next week.
Paul Sylvester
John, Chauncey is fine. It's the marsh portion that gets low. But you can paddle it on the upper half of the tide.
