Lora Woodward Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 Hi All, wanted to let you know that Northeast Passage, located at UNH's Campus in Durham, NH, will be hosting an ACA Advanced Communications Workshop, July 13-15th, 2021. This is a grant-funded program offered free of charge to participants. Attendance all three days is required. It would be awesome to have members of NSPN attend. Thanks! Lora Course Overview: Designed for instructors, outfitters, recreation program managers, trip leaders, rehabilitation specialists and those who want to more effectively include people with disabilities such as visual impairments or blindness, hearing impairments or deafness, speech, language, and/or perceptual impacts from traumatic or acquired brain injury in paddlesport programs. Advanced Communication Workshops teach instructors how to identify successful communication strategies to maximize a paddlers ability, seamlessly facilitate adaptations in instruction and group management, and modifications for risk management plans. Advanced Communications Workshops include classroom and hands on learning, a pool session and/or open water paddling. Current ACA Paddling Instructors will earn the Adaptive Endorsement upon successful completion. All others who are not certified ACA instructors will earn a Certificate of Completion upon successful demonstration of endorsement criteria. Are you, or members of your team interested in attending? Please email crystal.skahan@unh.edu to register and receive additional information. Flyer attached. ACA Communications Workshop.pdf Quote
