Guest Gerry P
ROGUE WAVE SEMINARY 9/23 - 9/25 The Rogue Wave Institute is a gathering of paddle pods to worship at the alter of The Open Water Gods that dwell in the dark depths of the Fishers Island Sound and Narragansett Bay This 3 day event is an intimate, symposium focused on skills needed to paddle comfortably and safely in rough seas. Rogue Wave is geared towards a variety of kayakers, from first time open water paddlers to solid intermediates. Participants will be working in groups with similar levels of experience. Paddle venues will be along the CT/RI boarder area, famous for it’s fantastic tide races, rock gardening and shore surf. Low coach/paddler ratios allow us to focus on your individual needs and wants. In-condition options include boat control, incident management, navigation, leadership, forecasting conditions, landing in a no-landing-zone, outfitting, etc... Class time and housing will be out of Camp Jori in Wakefield RI, which is central to many play spots. We are proud to feature a coaching line up entirely of local water demi gods including Gerry Polinsky (Sea Sherpa Kayak), Matt Kane (Prime Paddle Sports) Kevin Beckwith (Rock Paddle Surf), Caroline Zeiss, Ron Gautreau, Tim Gleason and Barb Todd. Prices are $450 for the classes only or $600 for campers, which includes cabins and meals. For further questions or to register, please contact Gerry at Gerry at Sea Sherpa Kayak dot com.
