lunar eclipse trip 9/27?

For those who cannot get to Maine for Rob's weekend trip, I have been looking into a Gloucester paddle for that evening. The problem is, it would make for a very late night:

Key Times for Total Lunar Eclipse, Sept. 2728, 2015

Eclipse event EDT

Penumbra first seen? 8:40 p.m.

Partial eclipse begins 9:07 p.m.

Total eclipse begins 10:11 p.m.

Mid-eclipse 9:48 p.m.

Total eclipse ends 11:23 p.m.

Partial eclipse ends 12:27 a.m.

Penumbra last seen? 12:55 a.m.

My thought was to park at the public lot on Rocky Neck, launch at around 5:30 PM, paddle around Dogbar to enjoy sunset (at 6:30 PM) and moonrise (at 6:24), then picnic on Dogbar Breakwater for the eclipse. If it turns cloudy, meh, we can just go to The Rudder.

The virtue of parking at Rocky Neck is we would have a short trip back to the put in.

Any interest?

Liz
