Odiorne Saturday August 9 TRIP IS NOW FULL

Conditions look just fine for Odiorne launch and landing…no mud!…with midday high tide.

Arrive at 9 am for launch thereafter. Conditions look just fine for low key paddle around Newcastle Island. The usual is required: boats with bulkheads and deck lines, pfd and spray skirts. If you're interested but we haven't paddled together, please send pm so we can get acquainted. And remember to get your parking slot online!

I know Joe's Sunday paddle is oversubscribed so a particular welcome to anyone who was locked out of that.

Please send me PM with float info: cell number, econtact cell, boat description, car model and plate number.

Hope to see some of you on Saturday!

FYI - We chatted with Sam Reid on Wood Island today and he mentioned that Sat night they are having fireworks off the coast between Great Island Common and Wood Island. In case you or others want to make a full day of it.

Wood Island Life Saving Station Food Drive & Fireworks!

Join us as we celebrate the US Coast Guard's 235th birthday! There will be no cost for admission to the Great Island Common in New Castle, NH after 5pm (it's the best viewing spot to see the epic firework show). We ask that you bring non-perishable food to donate to the Portsmouth food bank - Gather. Food will be collected at the main gate when you enter the park. The bravery of the surfmen one hundred years ago manning row boats in storms to help mariners in distress is not something we just want to talk about in the museum; we also want to celebrate that tradition in the current day - we call this Helping Others, Then and Now. Your food donation will support a hunger-free community.

Thanks for the info about the Sat nite celebration. Posted paddle will only be as posted. Of course anyone is free to make a day of it independent of the Newcastle paddle.

Right now we have me, David M, Bill D, Joyce C, Al C, and Vlad G signed up. Room for two more!
