Who We Are
We are a friendly and active network of paddlers based on the North Shore of Massachusetts. A love of sea kayaking brings together members from throughout New England and beyond. Our members include casual and beginner kayakers, highly experienced paddlers, bird watchers, racers and expedition adventurers among others.
NSPN is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 for educational purposes with the mission of helping paddlers improve their skills through a “pass it forward” club culture of peer teaching and learning. Club activities include paddling trips, summer skills sessions, camping trips, winter pool sessions, workshops and social events.
We are a member club of the Maine Island Trail Association and are stewards of two MITA islands in Casco Bay.
NSPN is not an outfitter. Club members who volunteer to initiate trips or other activities do so as fellow paddlers willing to share their knowledge with others under the Common Adventure Model, not as professional guides or instructors.
We provide a public forum for paid members to announce NSPN CAM trips as well as Show and Go trips so anyone can invite others to join in.

We reach out to the community through collaboration with harbormasters and the Coast Guard and help protect our marine environment through cleanup projects.
