Paul Sylvester Posted August 5, 2017 Share Posted August 5, 2017 Making up for lost time this season and went around Gerrish from Odiorne on 8/4. Very little traffic, few greenheads and a few boat wakes. Water was dropping fast in the marsh so no break at Brave Boat Harbor., By the time I got up river it was a good ebb about 1-2 pm. Made it up past the 95 bridge and got into some swirling rough boat wakes. Very easy to ride the eddies up. Rode the current back to Prescott Park and in by Pierce. Good headwind...no more assist from wind. Couple stops for breaks...one at Pierce where two people from VT with short plastic things asked about the strong currents. They thought they were in Maine and I didn't have the heart to correct them but did point them upwind to safer water. Now let us see if the pic posts..
