1st Session: Pre-Trip Planning workshop

Classroom Session

Sunday April 22, 10AM to 3PM

Parker River Visitor Center Classroom, Newburyport, MA

All members are invited to this full-day classroom session, the first of two classroom sessions, and the first of NSPN's four 2012 CAM workshops.

in past years, the workshops will be led by club members who are volunteering to share what they have learned. Our goal is to help club members build the skills and knowledge they need to be active participants in club trips.

This session will focus on pre-trip planning

Pre-Trip Planning Workshop (April 22)

• Trip Goals and Trip Selection

• Trip Levels and Required Equipment

• Cold water risks

• Nautical Charts

• Predicting Conditions (weather, tides and currents, etc.)

• Route Planning Exercise

• Trip Float Plan

• Ocean Access (Put Ins and Parking)
